Background of the show competition:
One of coffee’s charms is how we control the minor difference and variation during the process of coffee plantation, processing, roasting and blending. The control has specific magic on coffee roasting, which is enough for us to enjoy the coffee processing and then immerse ourselves completely into it. Why? The more we touch it, the more we are enamored with the complete process. Just the same as magic, what actually happens to coffee roasting is always much more than what you see at first sight. An investigation on the chemical components of coffee reveals us an astonishing fact: coffee beans are born with a complex mix of chemical components. At present more than 1500 kinds of chemical components have been verified, at the same time, the investigators have estimated that at least 20% of the component cannot be identified yet. Due to the complex composition as well as other factors in seed selection, plantation, processing and region differences, we find out without doubt that the green coffee beans we intend to roast are so rich and colorful. Now that we know the varieties of the green coffee beans and the minor flavor differences between different coffee origins, our aim of coffee roasting is to maximize the excellence of the roasted coffee and minimize the defects in order to achieve the satisfactory results, which is the soul of the coffee roasting culture.
Render Coffee (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has joined hands with Buhler (Wuxi) Commercial Co., Ltd., China International Exhibitions (CIE) to organize the 4th "Render Petroncini Cup" FHC Coffee Roasting Show Competition on the site of 2012 FHC China. The organizers hope the show competition can cast light on the intimate and delicate relationship between the coffee roasting and the coffee culture, therefore, more baristas and coffee lovers can really know what is the coffee.
Since 1919, Petroncini Impianti S.p.A has designed and created a series of coffee roasters adopting indirect hot-air roasting method. Technically, Petroncini monitors the heater to optimize the heat energy and the quality of the hot air during the roasting process, granting a perfectly uniform roasting by forced convection. Precise control of temperature, air flow speed and heat transformation, it ensures the special aromas and appearances of the roasted coffee beans. Presently Petroncini roasting equipment has adopted by many roasting companies and got excellent feedback.
The purpose of the exhibition:
- In order to upgrade the complete level of coffee roasting in China through the activities, to gradually establish the evaluation standard for Chinese roasters, make our roasters selected from our training and competition qualified for the international competition, and then acquire the title of master roaster. Meanwhile, we hope the title of master roaster can enjoy the same popular recognition and high reputation as master barista in China.
- Through our mutual efforts, make the complete competition be in line with the international coffee roasting competition held by SCAA, try to get the qualification of the organizer of China roasting competition authorized by the international roaster guild. Hope the roasting show competition will be another wonderful ceremony in China’s coffee industry.
- Through the competition, make various coffee industries pay attention to coffee raw materials and coffee roasting, then to promote the development of the whole industry and form China featured coffee culture.
