COMPETITION INTRODUCTION

The 23rd FHC China International Culinary Arts Competition, together with the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS), has set up the FHC China International Culinary Arts Young Chef Online Competition to provide a new competition platform for young chefs from all over the world who are unable to be on site for the competition, and to help with the WACS global anti-epidemic action.
The purpose of this competition is to encourage and promote the culinary expertise of young Chefs by exposing them to a competitive environment with their peers. This competition will offer the opportunity for the Young Chefs to showcase their talent and creativity in an international arena. With a profound respect for the values and traditions of cuisine and fine dining, we encourage and support the training of young chefs worldwide through this competition
The scoring structure of the competition is divided into In Classroom Judges scoring and Online Judges scoring: The In Classroom Judges scoring will be mainly measured by three aspects: Hygiene, Work Preparation and Taste; while Online Judges scoring will be judged upon two dimensions: Presentation and Recipe. After two rounds of scoring, the contestants will be awarded medals according to their scores. 100 will be awarded with Gold with Distinction, 90-99 will be awarded with Gold Medal, 80-89 will be awarded with Silver Medal whereas 70-79 will be awarded with Bronze Medal.

Competition Structure

FHC International Western Cuisine Challenge, FHC International Chinese Cuisine Challenge, FHC International Pastry Challenge, FHC International Bakery Challenge and FHC International Young Chefs Challenge is 5 competition categories that belongs to the FHC China International Culinary Arts Competition. According to the rules of the World Chefs Federation and awarded the WACS-certified medals and certificates.

Looking back on 2020, 359 contestants attended Individual Competition, with 465 participants. There is total 40 gold medals, 98 silver medals and 132 bronze medals were produced in 18 Chinese and Western food competitions. The organizer specially invited 97 professional judges to joined in and scoring: 56 Western Judges and 41 Chinese Judges.
