Uncorking the potential of the China wine market
China's demand for wine has grown at an exponential rate over the past decade. Today, China is the 9th largest wine market by volume. In the first 5 months of 2008 China imported 84.89 million litres of wine, an increase of 10.3% y-o-y and in values terms China's wine market increased to US$310million, up a massive 49.1% y-o-y. The value of China's wine imports is expected to reach US$870million by 2017.

Wine & Spirits China 2009 is China's premier wine event
Wine & Spirits China 2009 offers wine makers, importers, distributors and buyers a dedicated event for their industry at FHC China 2009.
FHC China, taking place for its 13th edition, 18-20 November 2009 in Shanghai is the largest, longest running and most international trade exhibition for the food & wine industries in China. 98% of all exhibitors are international companies or agents of international companies. FHC China 2008 attracted 807 companies from 82 countries and 20,441 trade visitors.
Including 140 wine producers and importers. The dominant wine countries on show included: Australia; Austria; Cyprus; France; Germany; Greece; Italy; New Zealand and Spain. |

B) China Sommeliers Wine Challenge
Blind tasting competition exclusively reserved for wine exhibitors at FHC China 2009. Judged by professional Chinese and guest Sommeliers with awards presented on 18th November 2009.An award ceremony for contestants with judges, importers, and press participating will take place in the Gold Card Wine Area in Hall 2, from 16:00 on 18th November.
